Imports into Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in supplies from abroad of albumins, albuminates and other derivatives (excluding egg albumin), which increased by 72% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 172%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, albumins and albuminates imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 132% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Ireland (X tons) were the main suppliers of albumins and albuminates imports to Poland, with a combined 82% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Lithuania, Italy, Belgium, Denmark and the UK, which together accounted for a further 15%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +422.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
