Moreover, baby garment exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Romania (X units), threefold. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with a 6.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +23.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+26.1% per year) and Romania (+25.7% per year).

In 2022, the average baby garment export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -6.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 34%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Poland
For the third consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in purchases abroad of babies’ garments and clothing accessories (knitted or crocheted), which increased by 5.4% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, baby garment imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Bangladesh (X units), China (X units) and India (X units) were the main suppliers of baby garment imports to Poland, together comprising 81% of total imports. Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco, Portugal and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Morocco (with a CAGR of +69.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
