In 2021, the average basic dye export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 19%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of basic dyes and preparations based thereon imported into Poland contracted significantly to X tons, dropping by -35% on the previous year. In general, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -38.3% against 2018 indices. Italy (X tons), India (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of basic dye imports to Poland, with a combined 79% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and China, which together accounted for a further 20%.
