Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +28.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 75% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The UK (X tons) was the main destination for bottled water exports from Poland, accounting for a 32% share of total exports. Moreover, bottled water exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Slovakia (X tons), with an 8.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the UK amounted to +17.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (-2.4% per year) and Slovakia (+5.8% per year).
In value terms, the UK ($X) remains the key foreign market for bottled waters exports from Poland, comprising 23% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the UK stood at +15.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (+1.0% per year) and Russia (+27.8% per year).

In 2022, the average bottled water export price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 54%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. X tons of bottled waters were imported into Poland; dropping by -9% compared with 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 112%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, bottled water imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +106.2% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) was the main bottled water supplier to Poland, accounting for a 90% share of total imports. Moreover, bottled water imports from the Czech Republic exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Czech Republic totaled +8.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-10.5% per year) and Belgium (+105.6% per year).
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bottled waters to Poland, comprising 35% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 6.2% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from the Czech Republic was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+0.6% per year) and Belgium (+40.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average bottled water import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, bottled water import price increased by +123.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 69% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
