Over the period under review, exports saw resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 126% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, carboxylic acid exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 84%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2021, purchases abroad of carboxylic acid with alcohol, phenol, aldehyde or ketone functions increased by 2.5% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, carboxylic acid imports expanded to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +68.3% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 28%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of carboxylic acid imports to Poland, together accounting for 68% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +41.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
