After four years of growth, shipments abroad of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) decreased by -91.2% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 12,120% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, non-wheat cereal pellets exports declined dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 5,109% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank notably in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main destinations of non-wheat cereal pellets exports from Poland, together accounting for 83% of total exports. France, the Netherlands and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +184.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for cereal pellets (excluding wheat) exports from Poland, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +39.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+211.4% per year) and Italy (-47.9% per year).

In 2021, the average non-wheat cereal pellets export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 26% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 177% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Poland
In 2021, supplies from abroad of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) increased by 228% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 1,531%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, non-wheat cereal pellets imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a significant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Lithuania (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-wheat cereal pellets to Poland, accounting for a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, non-wheat cereal pellets imports from Lithuania exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), threefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Lithuania amounted to +73.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+34,353.5% per year) and Germany (-17.9% per year).
In value terms, Spain ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) to Poland, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Lithuania ($X), with a 22% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Spain stood at +31,765.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lithuania (+86.5% per year) and Germany (-14.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-wheat cereal pellets import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 101% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 132%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
