Chromates Market Size in Poland

The Polish chromates market reduced rapidly to $X in 2022, dropping by -43.6% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, consumption recorded a deep contraction. Chromates consumption peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+30.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of chromates, dichromates and peroxochromates imported into Poland plummeted to X tons, which is down by -54.8% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 163% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, chromates imports reduced notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 83% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of chromates to Poland, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, chromates imports from Kazakhstan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by South Africa (X tons), with an 11% share.

South Africa, with a CAGR of +236.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average chromates import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 82% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 280%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
