Exports from Poland
In 2022, exports of common pottery from Poland fell to X tons, flattening at the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 27%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, common pottery exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of common pottery exports from Poland, with a combined 47% share of total exports. Hungary, Slovakia, Finland, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Latvia, Austria, Romania and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Finland (with a CAGR of +49.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for common pottery exports from Poland, comprising 35% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 7.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany amounted to +35.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (+8.3% per year) and the Czech Republic (+15.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average common pottery export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -3% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, common pottery export price increased by +33.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 26%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
In 2022, the amount of common pottery imported into Poland declined modestly to X tons, with a decrease of -3.9% against 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +19.8% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined slightly in the following year.
In value terms, common pottery imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of common pottery to Poland, accounting for a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, common pottery imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Romania (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X tons), with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +6.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Romania (-6.1% per year) and Germany (+3.5% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of common pottery to Poland, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Portugal, with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +10.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+24.6% per year) and Portugal (+22.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average common pottery import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, common pottery import price increased by +70.6% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
