The Czech Republic (X units), Lithuania (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of contact lense exports from Poland, with a combined 57% share of total exports. Italy, the UK, Romania, Spain, Russia and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, contact lense imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +1.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Hungary (X units) constituted the largest contact lense supplier to Poland, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, contact lense imports from Hungary exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), threefold. The United States (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.
