Imports into Poland
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of crude groundnut oil, when their volume decreased by -62.4% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 1,816%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, crude groundnut oil imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 1,898% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest crude groundnut oil supplier to Poland, with a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, crude groundnut oil imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Turkey (X kg), with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany amounted to +43.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+140.0% per year) and Turkey (0.0% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crude groundnut oil to Poland, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany amounted to +25.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (0.0% per year) and Austria (+19.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average crude groundnut oil import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
