Germany (X tons) was the main destination for currant and gooseberry exports from Poland, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, currant and gooseberry exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), twofold. In 2021, purchases abroad of currants and gooseberries increased by 116% to X tons, rising for the sixth year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 28,840%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, currant and gooseberry imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 1,532%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
