Desktop Computer Market Size in Poland

The Polish desktop computer market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after four years of decline. In general, consumption, however, recorded a abrupt descent. Desktop computer consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, overseas shipments of desktop computers increased by 187% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports saw a significant increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, desktop computer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 260%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The Netherlands (X units), Germany (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of desktop computer exports from Poland, with a combined 65% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Romania, Greece, the Czech Republic, Spain, the UK, Sweden, Hungary, Denmark and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 26%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +138.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for desktop computer exported from Poland were the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 67% share of total exports. In 2021, the average desktop computer export price amounted to $X per unit, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of desktop computers decreased by -17.5% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, desktop computer imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. Germany (X units), China (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of desktop computer imports to Poland, with a combined 75% share of total imports. Sweden, Hungary, Taiwan (Chinese), Denmark, the United States and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.
