For the sixth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in shipments abroad of furniture of plastic, which increased by 1.3% to X units in 2021. In general, exports recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, plastic furniture exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 30%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Germany (X units) was the main destination for plastic furniture exports from Poland, with a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, plastic furniture exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X units), threefold. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +11.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+8.5% per year) and the UK (+14.9% per year).

In 2021, the average plastic furniture export price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 9.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

For the fifth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in supplies from abroad of furniture of plastic, which increased by 45% to X units in 2021. In general, imports saw a resilient increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of plastic furniture to Poland, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, plastic furniture imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), twofold. Israel (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +14.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+3.4% per year) and Israel (+20.7% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest plastic furniture suppliers to Poland, with a combined 67% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Israel, Hungary, the Netherlands, Turkey and Taiwan (Chinese), which together accounted for a further 21%.

In terms of the main suppliers, Hungary, with a CAGR of +47.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average plastic furniture import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 17%.
