Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 117% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 80%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units) was the main destination for exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from Poland, with a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X units), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Denmark (X units), with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +36.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+21.1% per year) and France (+16.7% per year).

The average export price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 9.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the amount of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments imported into Poland rose modestly to X units, with an increase of 1.9% on the year before. Overall, imports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 108%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 18%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while the price for Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
