The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +64.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2020, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, gas supply meter exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, posted a remarkable increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

France (X units), the UK (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of gas supply meter exports from Poland, together comprising 65% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +170.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for gas supply or production meters exports from Poland, comprising 57% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 5.9% share.

In general, imports recorded a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 86% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, gas supply meter imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 129%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Turkey (X units) constituted the largest supplier of gas supply meter to Poland, accounting for a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, gas supply meter imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), twofold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Turkey amounted to +19.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-7.4% per year) and Italy (+79.5% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X), Turkey ($X) and Italy ($X) appeared to be the largest gas supply meter suppliers to Poland, with a combined 91% share of total imports.

Italy, with a CAGR of +27.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Import Prices by Country

The average gas supply meter import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
