Germany (X tons) was the main destination for concrete reinforcing bar exports from Poland, accounting for a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, concrete reinforcing bar exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Czech Republic (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Slovakia (X tons), with an 8.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at -2.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (-14.3% per year) and Slovakia (-9.0% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for concrete reinforcing bars exports from Poland, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovakia, with an 8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at +1.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (-10.5% per year) and Slovakia (-5.0% per year).

In 2022, the average concrete reinforcing bar export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. In 2022, the amount of concrete reinforcing bars imported into Poland dropped sharply to X tons, reducing by -33.1% on the year before. In general, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 72%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, concrete reinforcing bar import price increased by +87.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
