Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, imines exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 272% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Germany (X tons) was the main destination for imines exports from Poland, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, imines exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Slovenia (X tons), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany totaled -2.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+52.3% per year) and Slovenia (+38.6% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for imines and their derivatives and salts thereof exports from Poland, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 9.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 8.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+52.0% per year) and the Netherlands (+53.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average imines export price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -6.9% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imines export price increased by +6.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imines Imports
Imports into Poland
For the fifth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof, which increased by 2.4% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imines imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 75%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of imines imports to Poland, together comprising 68% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +86.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Germany ($X) and Brazil ($X) appeared to be the largest imines suppliers to Poland, with a combined 72% share of total imports.
Brazil, with a CAGR of +67.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average imines import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 22% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+69.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
