Imports into Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of ion-exchangers based on synthetic or natural polymers in primary forms, which increased by 10% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 35%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, polymer ion-exchangers imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest polymer ion-exchangers supplier to Poland, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, polymer ion-exchangers imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. Romania (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.
