Germany (X tons), Luxembourg (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms from Poland, together accounting for 75% of total exports. In 2021, the average export price for isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 9.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 34%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Luxembourg ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Poland

In 2021, after four years of decline, there was growth in purchases abroad of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms, when their volume increased by 3.3% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 31%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the main supplier of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary form to Poland, with a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany (X tons), with a 3% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia totaled -1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+13.0% per year) and France (+13.8% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms to Poland, comprising 94% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 1.7% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia totaled -8.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+3.9% per year) and Germany (+0.1% per year).

In 2021, the average import price for isoprene rubber (IR) in primary forms amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 33%.
