Tunisia (X units), Sweden (X units) and Ukraine (X units) were the main destinations of knitting machines exports from Poland, together accounting for 45% of total exports. These countries were followed by Angola, the Czech Republic, Russia, Slovenia, Belarus, the United States, India, the UK, Bulgaria and Germany, which together accounted for a further 43%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +36.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for knitting machines exported from Poland were Sweden ($X), India ($X) and Russia ($X), together comprising 47% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belarus, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, the UK, Tunisia, Germany, the United States, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Angola, which together accounted for a further 39%.

Among the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +31.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average knitting machines export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 265%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Angola ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tunisia (+65.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland

For the sixth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in supplies from abroad of knitting machineses, which increased by 14% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 93% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, knitting machines imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of knitting machines imports to Poland, with a combined 88% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and Japan, which together accounted for a further 5.9%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +73.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of knitting machineses to Poland, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with an 11% share.

The average knitting machines import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, jumping by 30% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a sharp reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
