The Polish market for mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings rose markedly to $X in 2022, increasing by 8.6% against the previous year. Production of Mixed Condiments, Sauses and Seasonings in Poland
In value terms, mixed condiment, sause and seasoning production expanded slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 18%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Poland
In 2022, shipments abroad of mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings decreased by -1.7% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 22%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
In value terms, mixed condiment, sause and seasoning exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The UK (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of mixed condiment, sause and seasoning exports from Poland, together accounting for 46% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Italy, France, Spain, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Ukraine and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +23.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for mixed condiment, sause and seasoning exported from Poland were the UK ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 44% share of total exports. The Czech Republic, Italy, France, Spain, Russia, Lithuania, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
Among the main countries of destination, Spain, with a CAGR of +25.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average export price for mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings amounted to $X per ton, growing by 4.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 6.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Mixed Condiments, Sauses and Seasonings
Imports into Poland
For the ninth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings, which increased by 7.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mixed condiment, sause and seasoning imports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mixed condiment, sause and seasoning to Poland, with a 27% share of total imports. Moreover, mixed condiment, sause and seasoning imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Croatia (X tons), twofold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany totaled +7.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Croatia (+17.5% per year) and Spain (+11.2% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings to Poland, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Austria ($X), with an 8.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 7.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at +8.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+1.6% per year) and Italy (+13.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for mixed condiments, sauses and seasonings amounted to $X per ton, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 6.7%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
