Latvia (X units) was the main destination for memories exports from Poland, with a 33% share of total exports. Moreover, memories exports to Latvia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X units), twofold. Russia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Latvia stood at +31.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Lithuania (+26.4% per year) and Russia (+19.6% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for memories exported from Poland were Germany ($X), Latvia ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 31% of total exports. Romania, France, Lithuania, Italy, Russia, China, Taiwan (Chinese), the United States, Hong Kong SAR and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
China, with a CAGR of +65.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average memories export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -13.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 13%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of multichip integrated circuits: memories, when their volume increased by 25% to X units. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, memories imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +92.4% against 2016 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of memories imports to Poland, together accounting for 56% of total imports. The Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, Belgium, Thailand, Austria, Malaysia, the United States and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of +54.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of multichip integrated circuits: memories to Poland, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany stood at +33.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (+7.5% per year) and the Netherlands (+21.6% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
