In 2022, the amount of natural rubber and gums imported into Poland surged to X tons, rising by 24% compared with 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 59%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Thailand (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main suppliers of natural rubber and gum imports to Poland, with a combined 84% share of total imports. China, Guatemala, Cameroon, Germany and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +137.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest natural rubber and gum suppliers to Poland were Thailand ($X), Vietnam ($X) and China ($X), together comprising 81% of total imports.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Cameroon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
