In 2021, shipments abroad of non-domestic dryers was finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. In general, exports enjoyed a prominent increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-domestic dryer exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 168%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Belarus (X units) was the main destination for non-domestic dryer exports from Poland, with a 35% share of total exports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer exports to Belarus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), threefold. Ukraine (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Belarus stood at +37.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+3.8% per year) and Ukraine (+20.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for non-domestic dryer exported from Poland were Belarus ($X), Russia ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 52% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the United States, Ukraine, Switzerland, Vietnam, Serbia and the UK, which together accounted for a further 28%.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +87.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average non-domestic dryer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -13.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 32%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
In 2021, purchases abroad of non-domestic dryers increased by 5.2% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 56%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of non-domestic dryer imports to Poland, with a combined 69% share of total imports. Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the United States, the UK, Japan, South Korea and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +91.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-domestic dryer suppliers to Poland were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 49% share of total imports. The United States, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Japan, the UK, the Czech Republic and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 48%.
Denmark, with a CAGR of +107.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-domestic dryer import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 35% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-domestic dryer import price increased by +72.1% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+14.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
