Slovakia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) were the main destinations of nucleic acid exports from Poland, with a combined 57% share of total exports.

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of nucleic acids and their salts, when their volume decreased by -3.4% to X tons. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 142%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, nucleic acid imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 260%. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of nucleic acid imports to Poland, with a combined 67% share of total imports. Singapore, Slovakia, Ireland, Austria and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.
