The Polish optical fiber and bundle market declined notably to $X in 2022, falling by -79.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a deep downturn. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

Production of Optical Fibers and Bundles in Poland

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to France stood at +294.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+125.1% per year) and Kazakhstan (+112.0% per year).

In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for optical fibers and bundles exports from Poland, comprising 45% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Sweden, with a 9.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to France stood at +310.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+139.1% per year) and Sweden (+461.5% per year).

In 2022, the average optical fiber and bundle export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 47% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable descent. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Poland

In 2022, optical fiber and bundle imports into Poland rose significantly to X tons, increasing by 13% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 47%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, optical fiber and bundle imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 27% against the previous year.
