In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in the Polish polycarbonate market, when its value decreased by -2.3% to $X. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany amounted to +23.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+23.5% per year) and the UK (+35.3% per year).

In 2022, the average polycarbonate export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell in the following year.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 63%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

Germany (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of polycarbonate imports to Poland, with a combined 58% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, Italy, Hungary, Russia, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 36%.
