From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled +21.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+13.2% per year) and Lithuania (+15.1% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 128% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, potato chips imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest potato chips supplier to Poland, with a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, potato chips imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the Netherlands (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Italy amounted to +21.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-6.7% per year) and the Netherlands (+34.6% per year).
In value terms, the largest potato chips suppliers to Poland were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 83% share of total imports. Spain, France and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Spain, with a CAGR of +59.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average potato chips import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, potato chips import price increased by +89.7% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 61%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
