South Korea (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main destinations of potato starch exports from Poland, together accounting for 38% of total exports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese), South Africa, Australia, Uzbekistan, Russia, the Netherlands, Thailand, Mexico, Belarus and Peru, which together accounted for a further 32%.

In 2021, overseas purchases of potato starch decreased by -19.2% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, potato starch imports dropped to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 21%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of potato starch imports to Poland, with a combined 87% share of total imports.
