The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved cows meat exports from Poland, together comprising 44% of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Croatia and Latvia, which together accounted for a further 46%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +320.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), the UK ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest markets for preserved cows meat exported from Poland worldwide, together comprising 47% of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovakia, Sweden, Croatia, Finland and Latvia, which together accounted for a further 45%.
Among the main countries of destination, Croatia, with a CAGR of +330.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved cows meat export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 17% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 17%. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals, when their volume decreased by -16.1% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 157% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, preserved cows meat imports stood at $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved cows meat imports to Poland, with a combined 85% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +76.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals to Poland, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sweden ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 12% share.
