The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the production volume increased by 18%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

In 2022, shipments abroad of process control, gate, globe and other valves decreased by -9.6% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, total exports indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +53.3% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, exports of process control, gate, globe and other valves reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +28.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 36%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for exports of process control, gate, globe and other valves from Poland, accounting for a 23% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of process control, gate, globe and other valves to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Denmark (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Romania (X tons), with a 5.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at +5.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (+4.9% per year) and Romania (+17.7% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for process control, gate, globe and other valves exports from Poland, comprising 23% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Denmark ($X), with an 8.8% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany totaled +6.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (+13.5% per year) and the United States (+20.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for process control, gate, globe and other valves stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 9.9%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of process control, gate, globe and other valves decreased by -10.9% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.7% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, imports of process control, gate, globe and other valves shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 30%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of process control, gate, globe and other valves to Poland, with a 50% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of process control, gate, globe and other valves from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +8.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+2.5% per year) and Italy (-1.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest process control, gate, globe and other valves suppliers to Poland were China ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports. The Czech Republic, Spain, Bulgaria, France, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +37.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for process control, gate, globe and other valves stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 15% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
