Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, other chemical products exports declined modestly to $X in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2012 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main destinations of other chemical products exports from Poland, with a combined 31% share of total exports. The United States, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Ukraine, Latvia, Turkmenistan, the Netherlands, Sweden and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Turkmenistan (with a CAGR of +181.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for other chemical products exports from Poland, comprising 21% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 9.5% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to +35.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (-0.4% per year) and the United States (+33.6% per year).

In 2016, the average other chemical products export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 13% against the previous year. Over the last four years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2016, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+19.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
Other chemical products imports into Poland totaled X tons in 2016, increasing by 3.8% against 2015 figures. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2016: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.9% over the last four years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2016 figures, imports increased by +74.4% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2016 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, other chemical products imports expanded sharply to $X in 2016. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2012 to 2016; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2016, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest other chemical products supplier to Poland, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, other chemical products imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), sevenfold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany stood at +24.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-4.1% per year) and China (+47.7% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of other chemical products to Poland, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ireland ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 9.1% share.
From 2012 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at +2.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ireland (-2.9% per year) and France (+1.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average other chemical products import price stood at $X per ton in 2016, with an increase of 2.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, faced a deep reduction. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2016, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2016, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
