The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +88.6% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of non-rolled bitumen products exports from Poland, with a combined 33% share of total exports. The UK, France, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 50%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovenia (with a CAGR of +184.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of non-rolled bitumen products decreased by -23.1% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, non-rolled bitumen products imports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 42%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Slovakia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-rolled bitumen products imports to Poland, with a combined 86% share of total imports.
