As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 46% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exports from Poland, together comprising 50% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +31.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exported from Poland were the Czech Republic ($X), Germany ($X) and Slovakia ($X), together accounting for 39% of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
In 2021, the amount of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles imported into Poland skyrocketed to X tons, rising by 17% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 81% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 77%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles to Poland, accounting for a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. Ukraine (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +153.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+2.4% per year) and Ukraine (+6.8% per year).
In value terms, the largest refractory bricks, blocks and tiles suppliers to Poland were Germany ($X), Russia ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports.
Russia, with a CAGR of +97.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for refractory bricks, blocks and tiles stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
