Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of roasted coffee substitutes exports from Poland, together comprising 58% of total exports. Portugal, Russia, the United States, Romania, Japan, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Portugal (with a CAGR of +63.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for roasted coffee substitutes exported from Poland were Germany ($X), Spain ($X) and Portugal ($X), together comprising 50% of total exports.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 193%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, roasted coffee substitutes imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 96%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest roasted coffee substitutes supplier to Poland, with a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, roasted coffee substitutes imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Ukraine (X tons), twofold. Portugal (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from India stood at -8.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ukraine (+123.4% per year) and Portugal (+132.4% per year).

In value terms, India ($X), Ukraine ($X) and Portugal ($X) were the largest roasted coffee substitutes suppliers to Poland, together comprising 86% of total imports.

Portugal, with a CAGR of +141.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average roasted coffee substitutes import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 49%.
