The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of fuse and detonator exports from Poland, together accounting for 48% of total exports. Italy, Norway, the UK, Finland, Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the United States and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

Imports into Poland

In 2021, overseas purchases of safety fuses, detonating fuses and electric detonators decreased by -11.7% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 5%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fuse and detonator imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 47%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Thailand (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main suppliers of fuse and detonator imports to Poland, together accounting for 63% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Japan, China and Germany, which together accounted for a further 35%.
