Scrapers Excavator Market Size in Poland

After four years of decline, the Polish scrapers excavator market increased by 19% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption, however, saw a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, overseas shipments of scrapers earth moving, excavating, extracting machinery (not self-propelled) decreased by -46.3% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 101% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, scrapers excavator exports dropped markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 185% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units), Russia (X units) and Norway (X units) were the main destinations of scrapers excavator exports from Poland, together comprising 55% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Serbia, Austria, Romania, France, Hungary, Ukraine, Latvia, Belgium and Kazakhstan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +76.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for scrapers excavator exported from Poland were Russia ($X), Germany ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 55% of total exports. Romania, Norway, Hungary, Kazakhstan, France, Serbia, Austria, Belgium, Latvia and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Belgium, with a CAGR of +128.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average scrapers excavator export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 93%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Norway ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland

In 2022, overseas purchases of scrapers earth moving, excavating, extracting machinery (not self-propelled) increased by 23% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports showed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 249%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, scrapers excavator imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 231% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), Italy (X units) and France (X units) were the main suppliers of scrapers excavator imports to Poland, with a combined 80% share of total imports. China, the UK, Australia, Sweden and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Australia (with a CAGR of +74.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average scrapers excavator import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 41% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
