In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of shelled walnuts, when their volume decreased by -12.3% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 207% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, shelled walnut imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 183% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Ukraine (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of shelled walnut imports to Poland, with a combined 75% share of total imports. China, Chile, the Netherlands and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
