Exports by Country

Hungary (X tons) was the main destination for steatite exports from Poland, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, steatite exports to Hungary exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X tons), fivefold. Belarus (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Hungary amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (-X% per year) and Belarus (+X% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, steatite imports fell to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2007 to 2019: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last twelve-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2019 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018, and then dropped in the following year.

Finland (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of steatite imports to Poland, together comprising X% of total imports. The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Germany and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2019, the biggest increases were in the UK (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Finland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of steatite to Poland, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Austria ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Finland stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).

In 2019, the average steatite import price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2019, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2019, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
