The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 145% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Russia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main destinations of talc and steatite exports from Poland, with a combined 76% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +34.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for talc and steatite exports from Poland, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Ukraine, with a 15% share.

Imports into Poland
In 2022, purchases abroad of talc and steatite decreased by -11.7% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 30%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, talc and steatite imports reduced slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +10.2% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

Finland (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of talc and steatite imports to Poland, with a combined 73% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +121.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Finland ($X), Italy ($X) and Austria ($X) were the largest talc and steatite suppliers to Poland, with a combined 59% share of total imports. Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.
