Russia (X litres) was the main destination for non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from Poland, accounting for a 50% share of total exports. Moreover, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ireland (X litres), twofold. The UK (X litres) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 22% share.

In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 63% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per litre), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Waters
Imports into Poland
In 2021, approx. X litres of non-mineral or non-aerated waters were imported into Poland; dropping by -8.2% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 181%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X litres. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the Czech Republic (X litres) was the main non-mineral or non-aerated water supplier to Poland, accounting for a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by Georgia (X litres), with a 1.9% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Czech Republic amounted to +11.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Georgia (+29.7% per year) and Germany (-21.3% per year).
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-mineral or non-aerated waters to Poland, comprising 98% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Georgia ($X), with a 1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the Czech Republic totaled +10.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Georgia (+49.7% per year) and Germany (-22.0% per year).

Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 38%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per thousand litres), while the price for Germany ($X per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Georgia (+15.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
