Exports by Country
Germany (X cubic meters), Italy (X cubic meters) and Denmark (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of exports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates from Poland, with a combined 77% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, France, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 18%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +61.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the largest markets for wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates exported from Poland worldwide, together accounting for 82% of total exports. Imports into Poland
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates, when their volume increased by 35% to X cubic meters. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 82%. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 86% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ukraine (X cubic meters), Belarus (X cubic meters) and Russia (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates to Poland, with a combined 85% share of total imports. Lithuania, Germany and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +22.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates suppliers to Poland were Ukraine ($X), Belarus ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 78% of total imports. Russia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +41.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates stood at $X per cubic meter in 2021, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 47%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per cubic meter), while the price for the Czech Republic (less than $X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
