The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 114%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X cubic meters), Italy (X cubic meters) and Denmark (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of exports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates from Poland, with a combined 77% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, France, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +61.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the largest markets for wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates exported from Poland worldwide, together accounting for 82% of total exports. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 82%. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 86% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ukraine (X cubic meters), Belarus (X cubic meters) and Russia (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates to Poland, with a combined 85% share of total imports. Lithuania, Germany and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +22.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
