The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 105%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest cabbage supplier to Portugal, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, cabbage imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), twofold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain totaled +5.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+2.2% per year) and Poland (+8.5% per year).

Among the main suppliers, Belgium, with a CAGR of +116.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average cabbage import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -7.7% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cabbage import price decreased by -35.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 39%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
