The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons) was the main destination for exports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances from Portugal, with a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances to Spain exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), sixfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.4% share.

In general, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine years.
