Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of frozen fish meat to Portugal, with a 45% share of total imports. Moreover, frozen fish meat imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), fourfold.
