Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aromatic hydrocarbons derivatives imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 177% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest aromatic hydrocarbons derivatives supplier to Portugal, accounting for a 59% share of total imports.
