Canned Meat Market Size in Portugal

The Portuguese canned meat market shrank to $X in 2021, waning by -8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a pronounced slump. Canned meat consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Spain (X tons), France (X tons) and Luxembourg (X tons) were the main destinations of canned meat exports from Portugal, with a combined 66% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Angola, Finland, Belgium and Cabo Verde, which together accounted for a further 24%.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Angola ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
