The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Spain ($X per unit) and Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($X per unit) and the UK ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, metal gas appliances imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 70%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

Spain (X units), China (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of metal gas appliances imports to Portugal, with a combined 95% share of total imports. The Netherlands and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 3.9%.
