Spain (X tons) was the main destination for camel and other animal meat exports from Portugal, with a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, camel and other animal meat exports to Spain exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X tons), fourfold. The United States (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.2% share.

Moreover, camel and other animal meat imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain totaled +12.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+99.9% per year) and the Netherlands (+18.8% per year).

In value terms, Spain ($X) constituted the largest supplier of meat of camels and other animals to Portugal, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 17% share.
