In 2021, Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) was the key exporter of canned pineapples in the world, comprising 84% of total export. Vietnam (X tons), Kenya (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

The Netherlands (X tons), Japan (X tons), China (X tons), the UK (X tons), France (X tons), Australia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Canada (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported canned pineapples into Puerto Rico, comprising 28% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 7.8% share of global imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in the United States was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-0.1% per year) and Spain (+1.8% per year).
